What comes to your mind when you think of Paris?
Stately Eiffel Tower , magnificent Louvre and beautiful Arc de Triomphe
with a dreamy voice of Edith Piaf singing ” La Vie En Rose ” in the backround,
that’s what comes to mind when
I dream of Paris.
A home to a major fashion house Yves Saint Lauren ( YSL )
which in 1983 gave birth to a fragrance
named after his favorite city, ” Paris “ perfume.
Story behind the scent
Here is a declaration of love from Yves Saint Laurent to Paris France.
” Your perfume nails me against a tree. I will not forget it. I will find you again some day.
There are a thousand places in Paris where I can see you again and crush your roses against my heart.
Our roses. The most beautiful.
Maybe you were just an excuse to realize my dream: offering a perfume to Paris. The prestigious Paris which dazzles.
Your blazing and crackling fireworks make the world sparkle.
I have chosen your name for this perfume, because none is more beautiful.
Because I love you. My Paris “- Yves Saint Laurent
What an appropriately romantic ode to the most romantic city in the world.
Yves Saint Laurent turned to an amazing and talented Nose Sophia Grojsman to help bring idea to life.
In creative process Sophia was influenced by another fragrance
created by Guerlain house in 1906 called ”Après L’ondée “,
it is a fragrance with a scent of a ” creamy violet ” which
she used as a skeleton , and then Sophia added roses.
She knew that she created something great , something what will become
a hit fragrance of the 80′s when
one night, while working on ” Paris “ perfume , she finished up at the laboratory and was walking home ,
she noticed a drunk man was following her, so she quickened her steps
unable to keep up with her , the man shouts
“Hey lady, I’m not following you; I’m just trying to smell your perfume!”

Ratings and Suggestions
This fragrance rated Love – ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼
Yves Saint Laurent describes it as ” A modern floral fragrance ”,
but I would describe it as a classic floral fragrance.
As I spray it on my skin a pleasant , sweet smell of Mimosa , Ylang-Ylang and powdery scent of Rose
mixed with sensual Amber and Musk
develop into a beautiful, elegant and romantic fragrance.
In your Fragrance wardrobe this would be a light and flirty, floral summer dress.
Eau de toilette concentration is perfect to wear for a shopping date with your girlfriend on the sunny afternoon
or a Sunday brunch with family and friends.
Eau de parfum concentration is great for the evening wear , vanilla note adds depth, mystery and a sexy twist.
This fragrance is appropriate for a sophisticated, elegant and romantic lady with passion for roses.
